The Heart of Our Work
Community Unification Initiatives (C.U.I.), believes that true wellness isn't just the absence of struggle — it’s the presence of connection.
We are celebrating 11 years as non-profit dedicated to the "heart-work" of healing Atlanta.- Honoring Our Heroes:
Providing a soft landing and real support for Veterans and their families.
- Courage over Comfort:
Breaking the silence around domestic violence and HIV/AIDS through education and empathy.
- Meeting Basic Needs:
Standing with those experiencing homelessness to restore dignity & hope.
- Cultivating Literacy:
Empowering every individual with the knowledge to own their health journey.C.U.I., formerly known as Christians United Inc., was founded by Donna Tate, Peggy Daniel, and Chinester Graves. C.U.I. partnered with Embrace the Temple Ministry and the Care and Counseling Ministry of The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church.
For 10 years, C.U.I. co-sponsored the annual AIDS Walk with the Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church and has collaborated with a wide range of church and community leaders to draw attention to the AIDS and homeless pandemics. The growing homeless population has created a passionate momentum for C.U.I. and its Consortium (a group of diversified business partners) to raise funds to provide necessary essentials for the homeless. Collaboration with community organizations and concerned citizens has resulted in education and awareness for many community concerns, e.g., prevention of infectious diseases, domestic violence intervention, mental and physical wellness. Our continual focus on youths, ex-offenders, domestic violence victims, veterans, and the homeless continue to motivate people to action. Virtual and in-person workshops are offered, mostly, free of charge on health literacy, health fairs, seniors’ empowerment series, financial literacy, domestic violence, and mentoring to families and children. We are seeking an individual to fill the position of Executive Director, a non-paid volunteer position; contact us for details.
Community Unification Initiatives (C.U.I.) began as a seed of faith planted by three visionary women—Donna Tate, Peggy Daniel, and Chinester Graves.
What started as Christians United Inc. has blossomed into a powerful movement of soul-centered service, rooted in our deep partnerships with Embrace the Temple and The Greater Piney Grove Baptist Church. For over a decade, we’ve walked the path of advocacy, co-sponsoring the annual AIDS Walk and standing in the gap for those the world often overlooks.
We don’t just see the "homeless pandemic" or the "AIDS crisis" as statistics; we are the humanity standing with them.Turning Compassion into Action
Through our "Village", we turn empathy into change.
We focus our light everyday:Vulnerable Hearts:
Showing up for our youth, veterans, ex-offenders, and survivors of domestic violence.Wholeness & Healing:
Leading conversations on mental and physical wellness and infectious disease prevention. The Power of Knowledge:
Offering virtual and in-person "soul-workshops"—mostly free of charge—covering everything from health and financial literacy to senior empowerment and family mentoring. At C.U.I., we believe that when you know better, you do better.
We are here to provide the tools, the truth, and the community needed to overcome.
